Trade with Estonia

In 2015, the export of goods totalled 11.6 billion euros and total imports amounted to 13.1 billion euros. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2015 the exports of goods at current prices decreased by 4% and imports by 5% compared to 2014. Estonian foreign trade is mainly based on strong economic ties with Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, Lithuania and Russia, as well as with other countries.

The main countries of destination were Sweden (18.8% of Estonia’s total exports), Finland (16%) and Latvia (10.3%) and the main countries of consignment were Finland (14.5% of Estonia’s total imports), Germany (11.1%) and Lithuania (9.4%). The share of EU countries accounted for 75% of total exports in 2015.

The main export goods are machinery and equipment (28.5%), wood and products thereof (9.9%), agricultural products and food preparations (9.8%), mineral products (9.4%) and miscellaneous manufactured articles (8.7%).
